Pitstop - Restaurant review

Last weekend I was out with my family to catch up Kannamoochi yenada movie at Mayajaal .. On the way back we stopped at Pitstop ( a family restaurant is what they call it , but its more like a hang out kinda place .. more like Marrybrown , Pizza corner and its likes) ..

The variety of food they serve is good ranging from Pizzas, burgers , salads to noodles, coleslaw et all.. They also have a variety of ice creams and milk shakes to choose from . The restaurant has an F1 theme and the ambience is good for a restaurant in its category .. It's jus' that the AC did not work that well when I visited one sunday afternoon.. May be the temperature was too hot.. The service of the people has over shadowed the food .. The people are really warm thou' a little bit of improvisation can be done when it comes to the food.

The place also has a party area to hold bday parties with a play area for kids and a conference area with provision for projection . Overall it was a good experience with the warmth of their service topping the other factors .. Pitstop was started a couple of months back , it is an unit of Parveen travels. This restaurant is situated in the famous ECR before the toll gate when your on your way to Mahabalipuram from the Chennai city .. If your on your way to ECR and wondering where to stop for a quick break/snack.. Pitstop is an ideal place.

Marrybrown on Nungambakkam does not have a good service though -- they confuse orders..

Recently I visited the Shollinganallur Pitstop restaurant (ha!ha!ha! - how do u call this a restaurant) with my friend - guess we were the only visitors for some months together - even the people coming around to fuel in the petrol bunk (yes this is a utility stop in a petrol bunk) do not mind it. How will they? Some reasons : one can fill the nose with good petroleum odour and same is mixed in air to the open kitchen which is at the reception. I ordered for French Fries (Regular , come-on they had a large variety also - wow, how very nice !) and a coke. The dining was upstairs and we were asked to wait above. After abt 5 mins, we got the order - gosh I can count 12 pieces of varying sizes with the largest being the size of 2 little fingers put together with a ketchup satchet was brought in by one of the boys - he could have given the order to us at the reception itself and saved his energy. Probably the idea was to make us feel at home in the A/C dining upstairs - and try to create ideas for ourselves for future dining. There were about 10 circular tables each with 4 seats cramped in a 20*9 ft room. Since we were the only 2 visitors for months, the pitstop has been overwhelmigly contributing to the unneccessary power usage and contributing to global warming. Well for the prize, the 12 pieces cost Rs.30 (even at the premier citi center,I got abt 30 pieces for Rs.30) and the coke was Rs.29, and then they had to keep themselves happy with Rs.4 each for service tax (yes the boy served, had we taken the order ourselves, probably service tax would have been debatable) and the ubiquitious VAT at Rs.4. Good that I visited,so that I can make others aware - and now I do not wonder that it is empty - even crows are not trying it out.
